As a Crain's Best-Managed Nonprofit, we pride ourselves on our commitment to an always-learning, innovative environment, offering best-in-class benefits and prioritizing employee well-being and collaboration.The Tax Site Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the success of our VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program. This position is contingent upon the availability of grant funding and the terms of the grant contract. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of a designated tax site during the tax season, the Tax Site Coordinator will be responsible for community outreach and establishing new relationships in the Washtenaw area outside of the tax season. The Coordinator will work closely with VITA Program Managers and other agency programs to achieve program objectives and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.Job Responsibilities:

Site Management:Assist in managing the operations of assigned tax sites, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant operation.

Compliance:Ensure all IRS VITA program requirements are met, including adherence to quality standards and procedural guidelines.

Program Support:Assist with VITA program planning, training, and execution, working under the direction of VITA Program Managers.

Community Outreach:Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage the Washtenaw community, fostering new relationships and partnerships that support the organization's mission.

Relationship Building:Establish and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and other stakeholders in the Washtenaw area to expand the reach and impact of the VITA program.

Team Collaboration:Serve as an integral member of the VITA team, supporting seasonal site coordinators and staff, and collaborating with other agency programs.

Client Interaction:Provide excellent customer service to clients visiting the tax site, assisting with inquiries and guiding them through the tax preparation process.

Equipment & Site Maintenance:Maintain site equipment and supplies, coordinating with appropriate staff to resolve any issues. Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed.

Administrative Duties:Support office procedures, policy maintenance, and participate in new employee orientation as it relates to the VITA program.

External Representation:Represent Accounting Aid Society in interactions with external constituents, building trust and fostering relationships within the community.

Other Duties:Participate in agency meetings or events outside of regular office hours as requested, and perform other related duties as assigned.

RequirementsEducation & Experience:Associates degree or equivalent work experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.Tax Knowledge:Working knowledge of federal, state, and local individual income tax laws is essential.Skills:Strong administrative and leadership skills with the ability to work independently.High proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office applications and databases.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.Problem-solving and conflic
