D&J Contracting is a full-service asphalt paving, sealing coating and concrete contractor. We have been in business for 36 years and are seeking to hire a person to manage the work in our repair shop as well as hands-on tasks on various construction jobsites. This is a combination of vehicle maintenance, equipment maintenance and field work. Experience in regular maintenance and minor repairs on commercial vehicles, construction equipment and small power tools is preferred.
This position is a year-round full-time position and training will be provided.
This role will require an energetic, highly self-motivated individual, the person filling this role will be responsible for managing the shop as well as working with our crews on job sites.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance logging, inventory management, parts ordering.
Keeping shop facility clean and orderly.
Ability to diagnose & repair company owned equipment.
Ability to work with vendors repairing equipment outside of our capabilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Candidate requirements:
Must have your own basic tools.
Must have previous mechanical experience.
Must have knowledge of shop equipment.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be detail-orient and meet deadlines.
Must be adaptable and willing to work with our construction crews when needed.
Must be willing to learn new skills and how to operate different tools and equipment.
Must have the ability to follow specific instructions.
Must be comfortable with multiple tasks to complete.
Must have reliable transportation and a good driving record.
Must be able to work 40 hours/week – or more.
Must be able to pass a drug test for illegal drugs.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
