Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Administrative Assistant in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is within the non-profit industry, specifically working with securing housing for the homeless population. The workplace is collaborative and requires strong technical skills, especially in Microsoft Excel.Responsibilities: Work closely with the homeless population of Grand Rapids to facilitate secure housing. Handle grants and secure funds to assist in housing procurement. Assist consumers with documentation and determine eligibility for housing. Perform income and rent calculations to ensure affordability for consumers. Ensure all operations are within compliance guidelines. Answer inbound calls and address customer inquiries in a courteous manner. Maintain accurate records of customer contracts and department files. Manage the database and ensure the organizational effectiveness of digital files. Complete documentation and paperwork related to housing grants and applications. Use MS Excel for data entry and to maintain records. Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative role in a non-profit organization Proficiency in answering inbound calls in a courteous manner Ability to create and maintain appropriate documentation and complete paperwork accurately Basic office skills including clerical duties and office functions Experience in managing client relations and maintaining department records Knowledge of compliance functions and regulatory compliance Proficient in database administration and management Ability to work comfortably with computer files and keyboard Capability to confirm appointments and maintain records Financial counseling skills would be advantageous Friendly and outgoing personality to engage with clients and team members Proficiency in MS Excel and data entry Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong organizational effectiveness skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills High attention to detail and problem-solving skills A high level of discretion for both business and personal affairs.
