Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Assistant Controller based in Grand Rapids, MI. The Assistant Controller will be a vital part of our team, in charge of various accounting functions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role involves intricate tasks such as balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close support, intern supervision, handling accounts receivable and payable, and revenue recognition.Responsibilities: Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance Support month-end close procedures by preparing necessary documentation and entries Supervise interns, providing guidance and feedback to foster their professional development Manage accounts receivable by recording revenues, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records Handle accounts payable duties, including processing payments and reconciling invoices Recognize revenue accurately in compliance with relevant standards and regulations Utilize software systems for accounting functions to streamline processes and increase efficiency Leverage skills in ADP - Financial Services, Concur, Crystal Reports, and DCAA for various accounting tasks Perform auditing tasks to ensure financial controls are in place and effective Oversee billing functions, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and accurately billed.Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services Proficiency in using Concur Experience in Crystal Reports Knowledge of DCAA requirements Ability to handle all Accounting Functions Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Knowledge of Auditing procedures Ability to handle Billing Functions Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and meet deadlines Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Demonstrated leadership skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
