Senior Project Engineer

Job Title: Experienced Project EngineerJob DescriptionThis Project Engineer is responsible for supporting projects with new and current customers on greenfield and brownfield projects. This role involves supporting the process from sales, design, manufacturing, to installation. All project based work - get to see projects through from start to finish, will be working on six-figure+ projects.

HYBRID work environment

3 days work from home, 2 onsite

Hours 8am-5pm typical

Travel 25%

Key responsibilities:

Designing system layout and creating elevation view drawings using AutoCAD (25% of the time).

Working with suppliers to obtain quotes on conveyance equipment.

Assisting Project Managers with project schedules to ensure projects stay within budget and addressing any scheduling restraints.

Collaborating with Controls Engineering, Software Engineering, and Project Management teams to define system descriptions, layout operations, commissioning, and acceptance testing documents.

Supporting the sales team with layout designs.

Performing engineering calculations to ensure conveyor systems will operate and perform as expected once installed.

Integrating various equipment types into each project, including storage retrieval machines, conveyors, racks, mezzanines, specialty equipment, and floor rails.

Managing the mechanical budget and ensuring procured materials are within budget.

Leading, coaching, and mentoring junior engineers.

Acting as Project Manager on small to medium projects or on change orders for large projects.

Must Have Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

AutoCAD proficiency

8+ years of Material Handling Systems Experience

Experience working on Large Projects (6 Figures/Million Dollars)

Strong communication skills

Job TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). Will be brought on direct after that. Work EnvironmentHybrid work environment with 2 days in the office mandatory and 3 days from home, unless otherwise needed for site work or notified by a supervisor to be in the office. Construction management experience also desirable.
