Description We are offering an opportunity for a Project Coordinator in the manufacturing industry, located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. As a Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks related to mechanical piping models, layouts, drawings, and reports. This role requires a high level of organization and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate and correspond with various teams within the organization.Responsibilities: Creating detailed mechanical piping models, layouts, drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) reports. Coordinating and collaborating with various disciplines including Project Management, Purchasing, and shop/field foremen. Ensuring the extraction of accurate BOM from fabrication drawings. Resolving work procedures, complaints, and construction problems with supervisory personnel. Working closely with Detailing Manager, Shop Foreman, and shop personnel on drawing inquiries. Maintaining department standards for consistency and recordkeeping. Ensuring code or standard compliance in collaboration with Detailing Manager. Working with QA/QC to ensure all traceability documentation is created and maintained properly. Utilizing tools and technologies such as Plant 3D, Acorn, Navisworks, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, etc. to perform tasks efficiently. Reviewing, marking-up, and modifying drawings from others within the department. Job Description The Project Coordinator will provide project management expertise to multiple cross-site, cross-functional research and development teams to ensure execution of operational objectives. This role will maintain project plans with timely information regarding timeline status, expense updates, critical path management, risk management, and resource forecasting. In addition, the project coordinator will collaborate with project managers and will identify and communicate relevant issues to be addressed by the teams. The primary focus of the PC is on project execution - ensure execution of critical path to avoid delays and identify potential issues and opportunities proactively. Provide project activity level guidance to team members including activity start/finish dates, 3-month look-ahead and potential issues/opportunities arising related to activity progression. Actively manage project expenses through effective communication of spending information with project team members and timely updates of forecasted total costs and timing of expenses within the project plans. Maintain project plan quality and integrity through regular and thorough updates to activities, expenses, and enterprise fields. Foster a collaborative relationship with Finance, Procurement, and Contract Management to ensure an efficient end-to-end process for project spending. Continuous improvement within the discipline by sharing best-in-practice techniques and processes with peers. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in a scientific or business-related field Three to five (3 - 5) years of project management experience with a detailed understanding of effective scheduling and planning of complex projects. High level of competency using Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project. Ability to work independently while fostering good working relationships across physical distance and have flexibility and the capacity to handle multiple tasks at once.
