Peninsula Powder Coating seeks an experienced Production Manager to join their leadership team in Baraga, Michigan.
This is a new position in the company and one that will manage all aspects of workflow. The Production Manager will oversee plant operations by setting production schedules, ensuring jobs are produced to the highest quality standards, and are shipped on time. The ideal candidate understands what it takes to make a company operate efficiently. If you are highly motivated, can solve problems, and have strong people management and/or process management skills, you may be a perfect fit for the Production Manager position.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
Oversee the production process from start to finish.
Develop and implement plans to meet production goals and deadlines.
Manage a team of production leads and workers.
Schedule and coordinate production activities to ensure maximum efficiency.
Identify and resolve production-related problems promptly.
Ensure quality of the finished product meets customer expectations.
Monitor powder and supply levels; order materials as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
5 years’ manufacturing or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Supervisory and/or management experience in manufacturing.
Knowledge of job shop workflow and lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, JIT, Six Sigma, TOC).
Proficiency with computers including manufacturing software (order management, BOMs, Routings, MRP), Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
Understanding of production planning/scheduling and raw material inventory management in a job shop preferred; metal fabrication/metal finishing experience a bonus.
Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
Ability to lead staff and serve as a mentor in order to achieve and maintain a productive work group.
Skills in analyzing production needs, identifying and resolving process, systems and/or mechanical failures, developing short and long-term schedules, and following through with performance requirements.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-hire drug screening and background check.
