Northern Hardwoods, a producer of world-wide premium hardwoods, is hiring a full-time safety-conscious Sawmill Utility Worker to join their team in Atlantic Mine, Michigan. WHAT WE OFFER.

FIRST SHIFT. $22.71 per hour (Monday–Friday 6:00am–3:00pm).

PLUS $1,000 sign-on bonus.

PLUS monthly production bonus.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

As a Sawmill Utility Worker, you keep our sawmill running smoothly and safely by assisting in operations whenever needed. Your day-to-day tasks include:

Operating lifts, debarker, band mill, gang saw, trimmer, and other equipment.

Following proper operating procedures for all machinery.

Welding and performing routine maintenance on equipment.

Operating wood and gas boilers.

Assisting other operators and changing gang saws and blades.

Using computer skills to report production or maintenance needs.

Performing daily inspections and reporting unsafe conditions.

Wear required protective equipment and follow safety procedures at all times.

Report injuries, accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Ensure all machinery and welding operations are handled safely and responsibly.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar environment.

Willingness to learn, help teammates, and follow strict safety guidelines.

Valid driver’s license required.

Practice safe work practices by lifting properly, wearing protective equipment/clothing (safety glasses, footwear, hardhats, hearing protection, etc. as needed) and maintain a safe work environment always.

You are energetic, reliable, and work well individually and as a team member.

You work well under time constraints and can ensure deadlines are met.
