Sr. Financial Accountant

Job Description:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various financial reporting and budgeting activities. Prepare month-end financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Perform and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.

Prepare and file accurate sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Develop and maintain financial dashboards to provide real-time insights to management and key stakeholders.

Prepare detailed financial reports for ongoing projects, monitoring budgets and expenses.

Ensure accuracy and timeliness of entries in the general ledger, making adjustments as needed.

Assist in preparing for internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit inquiries.

Support the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and financial planning activities.

Identify and implement improvements to streamline financial processes and reporting.

Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a high-level role.

Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.

Excellent knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.

Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

2-3 years of experience at a Big Four accounting firm.

Experience with Avalara is a plus.

15% Sales & Use Tax knowledge (training will be provided).

Experience with Epicor software is a plus.

Experience with financial reporting tools and dashboard development is a plus.

Work Environment:This role requires working 5 days a week in the office, with potential for hybrid flexibility in the future. The office operates typical business hours but offers flexibility for personal commitments such as inclement weather, child drop-offs, and appointments. Our beautiful new office provides a supportive and collaborative work environment, ideal for professional growth and development.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.50 - $48.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
