Accounting Specialist

Description We are providing a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in the metal fabrication industry, based in Fridley, Minnesota. The role involves the careful handling of a multitude of accounting tasks, with a focus on accounts payable.Responsibilities Efficiently and accurately process all approved invoices for payment. Reconciliation of credit card statements and processing of credit card payments. Manage the weekly checks run and dispatch checks to vendors. Provide administrative and clerical support to management as needed. Maintain all accounts payable files and prepare cleared checks for storage. Respond promptly and professionally to all vendor inquiries. Assist in monthly closings and preparation of related monthly reports. Maintain all accounts payable reports and corporate accounts payable spreadsheets. Ensure the accuracy of all accounts payable documentation prior to payment. Utilize accounting software systems for efficient handling of accounting functions. Requirements

Proficient in the use of Sage 50, and knowledge of Intacct will be highly regarded as the company is transitioning to this software.

Familiarity with Epicore and ADP software - prefered but not essential.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to recognize errors.

Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.

High degree of accuracy, consistency, and professionalism.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in data entry and management.

Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding company financial records.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.

Well-organized, timely, and attentive to detail.

Ability to handle high volume of invoices and checks.

Familiarity with payment regulations and fair credit practices.

Experience in a technology or software company is a plus.
