Description:Develops, directs and executes plans for major segments of complex projects. Compiles and analyzes operational, test and research data to establish technical specification and performance standards for newly designed or modified products/processes. Reviews progress of projects against design criteria and standards; recommends appropriate revisions. Develops and contributes to the development of proprietary positions. Work closely with customers and others to define product specifications and product realization.
Perform engineering and technical work involved in planning, organizing and coordinating detailed information required to develop new products from concept to final product realization.
Perform detailed product design through adherence to established design control processes.
Develop and manage strategy to bring products through the engineering cycle.
Budget operational activities to ensure continuous funding based on appropriate priorities.
Coordinate intellectual property strategy.
Design prototypes and feasibility models for proof of concept testing.
Assume responsibility for overall device design and support the manufacture of new and existing products.
Devise new approaches to complex problems through revisions of standard technical principles.
Help prepare project plans, specifications, and schedules for new product development.
Work closely with other engineers, technicians, contract manufacturers, assemblers, or other support personnel to assist in debugging and optimizing system performance.
