Growing together .This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407.We offer 4-6 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00 am - 4:30 pm from Monday - Friday. Must have the ability to travel onsite for the first 4-6 weeks to complete training at 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407.If you are located in MN OR WI, you will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

Organizes and maintains health information records.

Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.

Processes release of information (ROI) requests.

Manages requests for documentation and information.

Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record.

Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems.

Distributes reports and results.

May train and mentor co-workers.

Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements.

Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.

Work with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management)

Other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma / GED

Must be 18 years of age OR older

1+ years of experience in health information management (HIM) OR 1+ year of experience working in customer service within healthcare OR insurance industries

Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)

Reside within a commutable distance of 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407

Ability to travel onsite for the first 4-6 weeks to complete training at 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407

Ability to work between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST from Monday - Friday

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of healthcare customer service experience

RHIT OR RHIA certification

Experience working in a call center

Clerical OR administrative support background

Experience working in a hospital, physician's office OR medical clinic setting

Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance

Telecommuting Requirements:

Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
