GENERAL SUMMARY: The Specialist Career Advisor will support the university’s social change mission by coaching and advising Walden University students and alumni on workplace and professional skills. This person will work collaboratively with the Career Planning and Development team to provide quality career services at scale. This position reports to the Manager of Academic Success - Career Planning and Development.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:· Assist in designing and delivering career services utilizing best practices for providing services at scale.· Communicate with students through phone, email, and video regarding career and professional needs.· Meet with students to assist in career exploration, job searching, resume preparation, cover letter writing, interviewing skills, and other career-related topics.· Develop and update career services web content and resources.· Foster relationships with employers and approve job postings.· Maintain metrics for measuring individual and departmental activity and success, track student progress, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.· Plan and implement workshops and informational programs.· Represent the department on committees, working groups, and at events as needed.· Coordinate and assist other Career Planning and Development staff on projects as needed.· Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Academic Success - Career Planning and Development.
