About Us:
Union Trail Brewing is a new brewery opening in Blakeley, MN this fall and we’re looking for a creative, knowledgeable, positive person to take up the mantle of Assistant Brewer! Union Trail aims to provide a positive community experience by providing easy drinking ales and lagers while also introducing customers to creative and complex brews they may not have experienced before. The taproom, patio, food service in addition to an excellent selection of beers is something we’re ecstatic about sharing with the community. We hope you’ll become part of the team!

As Assistant Brewer you will assist the Head brewer in crafting the beers that are the heart and soul of the brewery. You will learn all aspects of the brewing and cellaring process with the opportunity to add to your brewing knowledge.
Part-time Employment
Pay: $20-21 per hour based on experience

Required Skills:
Prior professional brewery experience preferred but not required
Creativity and positive attitude
Ability to follow and document precise brewery processes
Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team setting and individually
Ability to identify necessary tasks and complete them effectively
Adherence to brewing and sanitation process
Adherence to industry standard safety rules and processes
Ability to manage multiple tasks and complete them efficiently
Enthusiasm and dedication to learning all aspects of the brewery
Ability to lift and carry up to 55 lbs; lift, push, or pull up to 170 lbs
Responsibilities:
Assist and report to Head Brewer
Receive, inventory and organize brewing ingredients
Assist in completing all aspects of the brewing process per Head Brewer’s discretion
Aid in all cellaring duties including transferring, carbing, kegging and keg cleaning
Document required testing and logging information
Follow recipe and brewing documentation
Utilize, clean and organize fittings, hoses, tools and brewing equipment
Assist in crowler, canning and other packaging processes
Ensure brewery cleanliness and adhere to all cleaning protocols
Follow SOPs put forth by Union Trail Brewing
Prepare materials and vessels for production.
Schedule:
Some flexibility is required depending on brewing schedule, season, and taproom events, but generally schedules are completed within an eight hour shift. (20-30 hrs/week M-F) Some weekend work may be required. Works in conjunction with the Head Brewer.
