Great opportunity for a paralegal/legal assistant with estate planning experience to join a growing law firm in the Minneapolis suburbs on a direct hire basis. This position is required to work on-site in the firm’s location in Hennepin County, Minnesota and supports attorneys in the estate planning and family law practice areas. Candidates must have estate planning/guardianship/trust work experience, including e-filing (Wisconsin filing a plus). Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide paralegal support to attorneys
Prepare correspondence of a confidential nature
Arrange meetings and appointments, calendars same
Answer routine correspondence
Answer, screen, direct and place telephone calls
Obtain and maintain working knowledge of attorney’s area of practice
Have knowledge/is familiar with specialized legal policies, procedures, formats and terminology
Assist the firm’s lawyers in the delivery of legal services
May also, under the supervision of a lawyer, perform substantive legal work that requires knowledge of legal concepts
Draft legal documents; compile, analyze and summarize data, perform legal research through computerized networks
Utilize software applications/databases to manage complex legal matters

Qualifications:
Must have 5+ years of prior legal experience in estate planning, guardianship and trust work
Strong computer, proofreading and word processing skills
Organization skills and attention to details are a must
Must be able to work independently and act with tact and good judgment.
Must be proactive and willing to take initiative and ownership.
