Description The Medical Billing and Collections Representative supports the business office by collecting payments from patients who have balances over 35 days old and working outstanding aged accounts. Medical Billing and Collections Representative task list includes but is not limited to:
Contacts patients directly to discuss outstanding balances due and coordinating the plan to collect payments.
Answers incoming calls routed to the Billing Office to answer patients’ questions regarding balance and insurance questions
Collaborates with Claims Specialist and Eligibility Specialist for information patients are requesting regarding coverage.
Collaborates with Business Office Manager regarding sending bills over 150 days to collections.
Appeals rejected or denied claims.
Makes calls and uses various insurance provider portals to research claim information and follow-up on outstanding claims.
Provides excellent customer service as well as completes any additional tasks deemed necessary.
Demonstrates high quality work in A/R assignments.
Assists in various department items as assigned including generating itemized statements, handling record requests, and answering incoming phone calls. Requirements Medicaid Billing, Medicaid Claim, Medicaid Eligibility, Billing, HealthCare Billing
