The State of Minnesota is committed to equity and inclusion, and invests in employees by providing benefits, support resources, and training and development opportunities.The Comprehensive Cancer Control / Sage Programs Section has a position available for a Student Worker who will be responsible for providing data collection, data entry, and clerical services for the Section's Sage Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program and SagePlus, the Section's Hearth Health Program. The work conducted will enable Sage staff to follow—up on abnormal breast & cervical cancer screenings, pay for cancer and cardiovascular health services in a timely manner, and carry out other Section activities.This position is part-time and will work 20 hours per week. The specific hours and days of work are flexible within 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. This position is anticipated to last until June 30, 2026, or until the selected candidate completes their educational program, whichever occurs sooner.This is a hybrid telework position that will require in-office work in the downtown St. Paul location. Telework will be based on the business needs of the unit and is at supervisory discretion.Minimum QualificationsThe following minimum qualifications must be clearly demonstrated on the applicant’s resume/application to be considered for this position.Enrolled in or plan to enroll within three (3) months to a post-secondary or graduate study program.ANDMinimum qualifications that will be assessed during the interview process:
Experience operating the following equipment: photocopier, scanner, and fax machine.
Verbal communication skills sufficient to communicate clearly with division leadership and staff.
Ability to practice confidentiality when required or appropriate.
Experience with software programs such as Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Pro.
Student Worker Eligibility: To be eligible for appointment as a Student Worker you must be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program or plan to enroll within three months. Students may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as a student worker, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. If you are enrolled at a credit-granting institution you must carry at least six semester/nine quarter credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, you must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load will be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment. Ability to perform 10-key data entry and to operate a Windows-based, computerized data entry program and equipment.
Data entry experience.
Ability to independently carry out complex written instructions.
Knowledge of numeric filing systems and the ability to use this knowledge to maintain a filing system.
Interest or experience in Public Health, Cancer Control & Prevention/ Sage Programs
