Basketball Official - $36.00 per game (non-MOA) and $42.00 per game (MOA) - Youth or Adult - Fifteen (15) Positions Available.
As a City of Billings Parks, Recreation and Public Lands Sports Official you will be responsible for the game experience of our participants. Officials will ensure a safe and positive playing environment for all participants. Officials must meet minimum age requirements to officiate. Officials should be decisive, candid, approachable, reliable, and teachable. Applicants must be knowledgeable about game rules, have experience in the activity they are officiating, and able to work well with children and adults.
Games can be Monday through Thursday nights, Saturday mornings, and Sunday afternoons, and there could be 3 to 4 games per day/night.
Salary is dependent on experience level and Montana Officials Association (MOA) status.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Enjoy working with participants of all ages.
- Professional, confident, and capable of dealing with players, parents, and fans.
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug test.
- Reliable transportation to and from games and trainings.
- Must meet minimum age requirements.

Youth Basketball Coach - $13.00 - $15.00 per hour - Fifteen (15) Positions Available.
Work Schedule: Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
- Girls Basketball Season: October 21, 2024 through December 7, 2024
- Boys Basketball Season: January 6, 2025 through February 15, 2025
Job Description: As a City of Billings Parks, Recreation and Public Lands Youth Basketball Coach you will be expected to demonstrate, instruct and develop basic basketball specific skills with participants ages 8 - 12 years old. The Coach is responsible for all aspects of directing the teams practice and play in games. An understanding of a specific sport is required. The instructor\'s level of play should be at the high school level. Equipment is provided by Billings Parks and Recreation Coaches will act as a gym supervisor and liaison for the parks and recreation department and be responsible for overseeing the school facility.
Duties:
Coaches must serve as a positive role model to players, parents, officials, and fellow coaches by following all rules and demonstrating good sportsmanship. Coaches must be able to teach Basketball skills through the use of planned practices and games at an appropriate level for each participant. Coaches must be able to organize the players to participate in games while providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all players, giving each child an equal opportunity to participate.
