Yellowstone County is seeking Juvenile Care Workers to provide counseling, basic care, and behavioral management for youth placed in County youth care facilities by a referring agency.
Examples of Duties:
- Conducts youth intake interviews and continues to regularly document youth behaviors and emotional status;
- Provides basic care and supervision to youth;
- Monitors and assesses the behavioral and emotional characteristics of referred youth and provides counseling or additional supervision to prevent self harm as needed;
- Regularly communicates orally and in writing any changes to youth to all members of the youth care facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or closely related field; or
- Associate's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or closely related field; and
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience working with and counseling youth in crisis; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling four (4) years.
- Valid Montana driver's license.
- CPR certification (within 6 months).
