A growing company in the Packaging industry is seeking a Traveling Service Technician to join our Technical Service Team.
This position is based in the Kansas City, MO area. However, most of the year is traveling to customers all over the United States. We are wanting to find a candidate to be based in the Kansas City area.
The primary responsibilities are:
· To visit customers for scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as well as unscheduled visits of customers in case of machine operational needs.
· Secondary responsibilities are the installation of machines at new customers and training of staff at the machine.
· Another responsibility is to assemble costumer equipment (production machines, devices etc.) in the plant in Kansas City.
This position requires mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical skills. The qualified candidate must have experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of production machines and their surrounding equipment.
A strong ability to communicate with customers and to build customer relationships is essential. This includes all levels of employees as this position requires direct contact with our customers.
The candidate must have the ability to fulfill duties with little or no supervision. She/He should be able to work as independently as possible.
Frequent travel as well as working some weekends is required.
Job specific training will be provided but we are looking for someone who has a good general knowledge base in the following:
· Excellent mechanical knowledge and aptitude
· Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
· Ability to communicate with customers to remotely troubleshoot/service our equipment
· Strong work ethic, and the desire to go above and beyond
Experience in applications of the following would be preferred but not mandatory:
· Electrical controls
· Pneumatic controls
An understanding of production processes and their single procedures is also preferred but not mandatory.
