They collaborate with stakeholders and health care professionals to provide clinical, consultative, and administrative services in areas such as occupational health, travel health, primary diagnosis and treatment for ill and injured employees, eme Responsibilities ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: As an Occupational Health Nurse for NGA, you will have diverse and challenging opportunities in occupational health for experienced nurses who enjoy a varied practice in travel medicine, OSHA programs, acute employee health care, pre and post deployments, and emergency preparedness. You will provide a range of occupational health services, such as identifying and assessing occupational and non-occupational illness and injuries. You will also administer a full range of immunizations and provide medical information to those traveling overseas. Utilizing your experience and education, you will respond to medical emergencies, provide emergency medical assessments and interventions independently, plus inspect and maintain routineemergency supplies and equipment. You will also be involved in implementing regular health education programs to comply with federal regulations and to meet organizational needs. This entails conducting and supporting OSHA mandated programs, administering spirometric testing, hearing exams, EKGs, etc., in addition to providing individual counseling to employees on disease prevention and health promotion. Below are activities nurses perform on a typical day: Assessing, observing, and speaking to patients Recording details and symptoms of patient medical history and current health Preparing patients for exams and treatment Administering vaccines and immunizations, then monitoring patients for side effects and reactions Creating, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans with the medical team Performing wound care, such as cleaning and bandaging them Assisting in medical procedures as needed Operating and monitoring medical equipment Drawing blood, urine samples, and other body fluids for lab work Other additional clinical and administrative duties as required. Non-executive NGA employees are assigned to five distinct pay bands based on the type and scope of work performed. The employee\'s base salary is established within their assigned pay band based on their unique qualifications. A performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus. Qualifications MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required).
