Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, GEOSPATIAL Intelligence Battalion, Springfield, VA 22150 . Responsibilities Serves as a GEOINT analyst and trainer. Provides subject matter expertise to optimize GEOINT analytics and courseware efforts regarding commercial, theater, and strategic production incorporating current Army architecture, equipment and exploitation software systems. Manages GEOINT training initiatives supporting Army combat operations and strategic requirements at all echelons. Provides detailed GEOINT analysis in support of operations, operational and contingency plans, enterprise readiness and community standards of critical tasks. Develops and Integrates GEOINT equities into exercise environments, cumulative engagements, training classrooms, and GEOINT courseware development supporting Combatant Commands’ operational needs and GEOINT community standards. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GG/GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience as a Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) analytic authority and an expert in commercial, theater, and strategic GEOINT production, architecture, equipment, and exploitation software in support of Army combat operations, strategic requirements, and GEOINT training initiatives support at all echelons. Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management. This is a(n) CF 35 General Intelligence Career Field position. TERM: This announcement is for a term position. Permanent employees who apply, are selected for, and ultimately accept this position will be converted to a term appointment. Term positions in DCIPS may be extended up to a maximum of five years. This position may be converted to permanent without further competition after completion of two years of continuous service in this position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
