Assistant Municipal Group Maintenance Coordinator Position
Purpose/Summary Responsible for assisting in supervising building
custodians and related maintenance activities relative to the Municipal
Group, DPW/Tapley Street building, Police Department, and public
buildings as required under the Department of Parks, Buildings and
Recreation Management. Assists in planning, coordinating, and
supervising building custodians and related service activities in the
municipal group and other buildings under direct management of the
Department of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management. Supervision is
exercised in absence of the Municipal Group Maintenance Coordinator,
directly or through subordinates, over a staff of custodial and service
employees. Essential Functions Assists in supervision of building
custodial staff, service, and protective activities in the municipal
administration building, municipal auditorium, welfare building, and
other buildings of the municipal group. In the absence of the MGMC,
plans, assigns, supervises and reviews the work of subordinates on all
shifts. Orients, trains new employees, keeps accident, time and supply
records; investigates and adjusts complaints. In the absence of the
MGMC, requisitions supplies, tools, equipment, and construction and
maintenance work. Assists with regular inspection of buildings, grounds,
and equipment for cleanliness, damage, disrepair and hazards, tests
extinguishers, alarms and panic doors. Assists with supervision of
cleaning tasks, such as, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing
floors. Washing windows, woodwork, walls, and toilet facilities.
Polishing furniture and metalwork, dusting woodwork and furniture.
Assists with supervision of grounds maintenance tasks, such as cleaning,
sanding, shoveling walks, trimming shrubs, and tending flower beds.
Assists with supervision of tasks involved in setting-up areas,
furniture, equipment for municipal auditorium concerts, examinations,
dances, graduations, clinics, expositions, and similar functions.
Assists with supervision of tasks involved in making minor and emergency
repairs to building furniture and fixtures, replacing light bulbs,
arranging furniture, attaching screens and awnings, and distributing
washroom supplies. Assists with supervision of elevator and building
protective services for the municipal group. Provides advice and
assistance to subordinates or personally participates in difficult or
unusual aspects of this work. Keeps a variety of related records and
prepares reports. Performs related work as required. Knowledge, Skills,
and Abilities Extensive knowledge of methods, materials and equipment
employed in maintaining the clean and orderly condition of public
buildings, grounds and equipment. Thorough knowledge of minor repairs to
building fixtures and furniture. Thorough knowledge of departmental
policies, rules and regulations pertaining to the use and care of public
buildings. Considerable knowledge of methods and procedures involved in
elevator service and building protective activities. Considerable
knowledge of methods and procedures of the arrangement of auditorium
areas, furniture and equipment for various functions. Ability to plan,
assign, supervise and review the work of staff of subordinates. Ability
to enforce policies and regulations firmly, tactfully and impartially.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
subordinates, department heads, City officials, municipal employees, and
the general public. Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely,
orally and in writing. Ability to develop and evaluate new and revised
work methods and procedures. Education and Experience High school
diploma or equivalent. Four years of experience in building custodial
work, including thorough progressively responsible experience at the
supervisory level.

Prepare for customer quality audits and oversee internal quality audit program. Assess supplier quality performance and audit suppliers as required to achieve compliance. Perform root cause analysis using common problem-solving tools and statistics. Perform periodic measurement system analysis on measuring devices that are critical to quality. Assist efforts to train team on quality concepts and technology. Administer the correction action program. Write and/or revise documents to support company Quality Management System. Develop improvements to QMS. Evaluate production and inspection methods and oversee necessary changes to reduce variability. Prepare curriculum and lead training sessions. Protect themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety and health policies. Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or safety coordinator. Must work with the EHS department to ensure all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies requirements are met; OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA and Amphenol sustainability practices. Must work with the Quality department to ensure all quality standards are met for AS9100 certification. Comply with company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Quality or related field. Experience: 3-5 years quality inspection experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stooping, twist, reach and reach overhead. Must be able to lift and carry 0-25lbs. frequently. Preferred: Experience with statistical software such as Mini-tab, JMP or QI-Macros Certification as Quality Engineer and/or Quality Auditor, Quality Manager Lean/Six Sigma training 3-D CAD drafting ability and experience designing parts, tools, and gages Experience in electroplating, injection molding, assembly, metallurgy, and Swiss machine operations Knowledge: Education and Training Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Engineering and Technology Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
