Position: Teacher-Leader in the Infant Classroom
Location: Elevate Montessori School, Livingston, MT
Reports To: Education Directors
Employment Status: Hourly up to 40 hours per week, dependent on staffing needs
Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 dependent on Montessori certification, eligible for overtime at time-and-a-half
Summary Description
Elevate Montessori School is a small, nurturing Montessori community dedicated to fostering respect, kindness, trust, confidence, and love in children, families, and staff alike. Primary Job Duties
-Guide children during work periods using Montessori principles.
-Observe and encourage children’s development with patience and care.
-Maintain an organized, clean, and prepared classroom environment.
-Model kindness, calmness, and consistency for students and staff.
-Participate in team meetings and collaborative planning sessions.
-Embrace and implement the Montessori Method in daily practice.
-Supervise children to maintain a safe, healthy environment and adhere to safety guidelines.
-Support children during meals, snacks, and nap time transitions, ensuring comfort and routine.
-Provide regular updates to families on their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
-Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and child progress.
-Administer basic first aid when needed and follow emergency protocols.
-Help children with toilet learning, diapering, and personal care, encouraging independence while offering support.
-Actively participate in at least 50% of community events
-Provide childcare for at least two Family Learning Nights per year.
-Contribute to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment by participating in shared cleaning tasks, including dishes, bathrooms, entryways, and laundry, ensuring the school remains a safe and tidy space for all.
-Maintain current status on the Montana Early Childhood Project’s Practitioner Registry and provide all required training and documentation to ensure the facility remains in compliance with licensing requirements

Qualifications
Required
-Reliable, timely, and diligent with a passion for working with young children.
-Availability Monday through Thursday 7:00am-4:00pm.
-Experience in traditional childcare is not required, but a love for working with children is essential.
Preferred
-Montessori certification preferred (compensation reflects certification level).
Compensation and Benefits
-This position is paid at a salary of $18.00 - $22.00 hourly. Benefits of this position include:
-Paid Time Off: After your 90 day probationary period, you will accrue 0.03833 hours of paid time off for every hour worked. If you work 40 hours a week this equates to 80 hours PTO per year.
-8 Paid Holidays: If usually scheduled to work a holiday when the school is closed, you’ll receive your full day of pay. This includes Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Some of the paid holidays may align with specific religious observances. If you celebrate different holidays, please speak with your supervisor to arrange an alternative day off.
-Cell Phone Stipend: You will receive $30/month towards your monthly cell-phone bill.
-Discounted Childcare: Dependent on enrollment openings. Full-time employees (32 hours and above) receive a 50% discount, while part-time employees (less than 32 hours) receive a 25% discount.
-Lunches Provided: Free lunch is offered to staff on their scheduled work days.
-Professional Development: We are committed to fostering continuous learning and provide opportunities for professional growth, including Family Education trainings and funding support for external training, subject to Elevate's professional development budget.
-Pediatric First Aid & CPR: Elevate covers the cost of approved staff First Aid & CPR certification.
