Organization Overview:

The Livingston Community Bakery is a program of the Livingston Food Resource Center (LFRC), serving as a vital component of our mission to support the local community. Our retail store produces and sells a variety of artisan breads and pastries using all organic grains, grown and milled in Montana. The bakery bakes all of the bread that is distributed through the LFRC food pantry. Additionally, we provide sliced sandwich bread to food pantries statewide at no cost, extending our impact beyond our community. We offer training opportunities for individuals aspiring to pursue careers in baking, fostering skill development and economic empowerment.

Position Overview:

The LFRC and Livingston Community Bakery are seeking a passionate and energetic culinary artist to join our team on a full time basis. The ideal candidate must take great pride in their work, have the ability to multitask and work well with others. This position is responsible for all the preparation and production of our sandwiches, salads, quiches and other deli offerings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Prepare assorted deli items by following established recipes

-Participate in recipe testing and creation

-Manage time and tasks for efficiency

-Maintain a clean kitchen and adhere to health and safety standards

-Manage stock

-Grow with us

Skills and Qualifications:

-Preferred, 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting, but willing to train an eager candidate with limited to no experience

-Knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and service

-Immediate willingness to obtain ServSafe Certification

-Ability to work mornings 6am-2pm

-Ability to execute recipes consistently

-Must be reliable, professional and team oriented.

-Organized, good time management skills

-Occasional moderate to heavy lifting (50lbs) and carrying

-Must be eligible to work and provide documentation

-Physical Demands/Work Environment

-Physical Requirements & Working ConditionsMust be able to lift at least 50 lbs. on regular basis and 75 lbs. with the

assistance using safe lifting techniques

-Stand/walk for up to 7+ hours per work day.

-Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle tools, such as knife techniques for chopping, slicing, cutting, and dicing for extended periods of time

Compensation:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 6am to 2pm, at the Community Bakery in downtown Livingston.

Compensation is negotiable, starting between $18 and $20 an hour, based on experience.

Full Time Benefits:

2 weeks Paid Vacation, available after a 90 day probationary period

2 weeks paid Sick Leave, annually
