Green Seam Designs is looking for a woodworker. GSD is a custom furniture shop based in Bozeman, MT. We are a design and build company specializing in high-end custom wood, metal, and upholstered furniture. Our goal is to build every piece to heirloom-quality. To create our custom furniture, Green Seam Designs strives to source as many sustainable, natural, and non-VOC materials and finishes as possible. We work hard to foster a creative and supportive working atmosphere that replicates the quality of the work we build.
Woodworking Roles:
Milling rough sawn lumber into dimensional stock.
Assembling frames for upholstered furniture.
Building and finishing custom hardwood furniture.
Communicating with other departments to ensure details are met.
Lift and maneuver heavy materials and finished furniture.
Manage and track time spent on projects to be on schedule with budget.
Using programs to track time, update inventory, note current project status, and archive completed projects.
Woodworking Requirements:
Background in fine woodworking and/or milling
Ability to measure, cut, scribe.
Knowledge of using hand tools efficiently and safely.
Ability to use shop tools efficiently and safely.
Able to read 2-D detailed plans and visualize 3-D end products.
Create a detailed cut list(s) from plans.
A desire to learn new skills and techniques.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Creative, motivated, and innovative mind-set.
Upholstered furniture building knowledge & experience is a plus.
A clean driving record and current drivers license
