Job Summary:
-As the Field Superintendent, you will oversee the day-to-day on-site operations of commercial steel building projects with lumbered interior buildouts. Your responsibilities will include managing field crews, coordinating with project manager and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring the successful and timely completion of each project.
-As a general laborer you will answer to the Superintendent of the jobsite. You will execute day-to-day operations of steel building projects with lumbered buildouts. Your responsibilities will include following Superintendent/Forman instructions in order to erect the steel building.
For Field Superintendent Only:
Key Responsibilities:
-Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring they are executed safely, efficiently, and according to design specifications.
-Manage and supervise field staff, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to timelines.
-Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to resolve any design or construction challenges.
-Monitor and enforce safety regulations, conducting regular inspections to ensure OSHA compliance and minimize risk.
-Maintain project schedules, track progress, and report updates to senior management and stakeholders.
-Conduct site meetings to discuss project progress, address concerns, and ensure alignment with goals.
-Manage material orders, deliveries, and inventory to ensure projects stay on schedule.
-Prepare and review daily reports, time sheets, and job logs.
-Maintain strong client relationships and act as the primary point of contact for on-site communications.
Qualifications:
-3-5+ years of experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, or similar leadership role in commercial steel building construction.
-Strong knowledge of steel erection processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
-Proven experience managing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and solving on-site challenges.
-Excellent communication and organizational skills.
-Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
-OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
-Any equipment certifications are a plus.
-Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
Working Conditions:
-Primarily outdoor, on-site work in various weather conditions.
-Ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights if required.
-Occasional travel may be required for out-of-town projects.
Benefits:
-Competitive salary based on experience.
-Approximately $35-$45/hr D.O.E. for Field Superintendent
-Approximately $15-$25/hr D.O.E. for General Laborer
