We are seeking a talented and creative Lead Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. 1889 is a locally owned steakhouse located in the beautiful downtown of Missoula, Montana. Position Overview:
The position is responsible for designing, preparing, and executing a full range of desserts that complement our elevated steakhouse menu. The right candidate will have a strong technical foundation, a creative eye for presentation, and the ability to manage production with consistency and precision.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a rotating dessert menu that showcases creativity and seasonality.
Prepare high-quality plated desserts for daily service and special events.
Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure menu balance and consistency.
Manage pastry inventory and assist in ordering.
Train and mentor support staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a pastry chef or lead pastry cook, preferably in fine dining.
Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and plated dessert design.
Creative flair with a passion for elevating classic and modern pastry concepts.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
