JOB DESCRIPTION:

This role will oversee the daily operations of KettleHouse Amphitheater’s shuttle program, including venue set-up and tear-down as well as managing the flow of patrons onto shuttle buses. This role requires leadership, organization, and customer service skills, with a focus on maintaining safety, order, and a positive experience for all involved.

The right candidate for this position will bring with them the ability to effectively communicate with others, including shuttle staff and bus drivers. Former cash handling experience is required of this position, as well.

This is a seasonal, events-based position. You will report to work at the Top Hat and later shift out to the KettleHouse Amphitheater for the return trip home. The use of a vehicle is not required as you may utilize the bus services for transportation in between locations. This role does not drive or operate any of the buses.

Below are some guiding principles that all Logjam Presents staff members are expected to adhere to, regardless of position or title.

SUPERVISOR DUTIES:

In addition to the description of the duties below (which are requirements of all Logjam Presents staff) you are responsible for:

● Supervision & Leadership - Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to staff before, during, and after events. You are expected to set a good example and adhere to all policies outlined in the handbook.

● Staff Training - Conduct training for staff to ensure they are familiar with their roles, responsibilities, policies, and event protocols. You should take the initiative to correct behavior and provide continual support and feedback.

● Emergency Response - Intervene in emergency situations and periodically review emergency and evacuation procedures to ensure preparedness in high-stress situations. You will take the lead in de-escalating and supporting other staff as they learn to navigate unpredictable situations.

● Assist Staff with Clocking In & Out - Provide support to security and event staff regarding clocking in and out and troubleshooting software-related issues once on shift.

● Assignments & Delegation - Assign duties, placement, and other responsibilities to staff based on needs of the show. You should identify the strengths and weaknesses of employees, while providing opportunities to ensure opening, closing, and other tasks are completed.

● Problem Solving - Address any issues or concerns that arise during events, making quick and effective decisions to resolve problems. Notify the event manager of any urgent or major issues promptly and call for reinforcement as needed.

● Communication - Serve as the primary point of contact between security and event staff and the operations team. Communicate various and specific event-related details to the rest of the team including security needs, ADA reservations, special requests, etc.

● Inventory Management - Oversee the distribution of event related equipment (Beach Radio, Logjam Radio, Shuttle Wristbands, Day of Show Supplies), ensuring equipment is accounted for and properly maintained. Communicate needs for supplies and/or maintenance to the operations team.

● Team Building - Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting camaraderie and teamwork.

● Continuous Improvement - Monitor staff performance and provide mentorship/guidance to help improve and maintain excellent customer service and professionalism.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

● Perform various setup and closing duties which may include hanging/removing signage, moving bike racks/barricades, collecting trash/recycling, stocking supplies, spot cleaning, and collecting lost and found items.

● Provide general crowd control, identify prohibited items, and assist with customer questions.

● Observe the crowd based on your daily deployment. All security and event staff are responsible for keeping an eye out for potential issues that may affect patrons, artists, and the facilities.

● Understand and effectively uphold Logjam Presents policies, including emergency protocols and evacuation perimeters. You will be required to lead or attend daily security briefings that will detail procedures specific to the event, as each show will vary.

● Identify and de-escalate situations that involve potential conflict. You will be required to intervene in a high-stress situation. These incidents may require a formal incident report to ensure that managers are aware of situations that may require follow-up.

● Communicate effectively and participate as a member of a larger team. You will work alongside others with the singular goal of providing a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons. It is imperative that you are prompt, professional, and positive.
