Watch HERE (https://youtu.be/VvCFDMQRyM8) to find out why you should work at MSC and join us as we continue to build a diverse and inclusive workplace.Requisition ID :15458Employment Type :Full TimeJob Category :Customer CareWork Location :NevadaState or Province :Nevada (US-NV)Potential Work Location :United States : Nevada : RenoBRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:Assists associates and customers with product related technical inquiries by applying knowledge of MSC’s products and their uses.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:o Accepts transferred customers from associates and enters orders if required to ensure that conference times are not excessive.o Identifies product training opportunities and communicates them to management.o Maintains vendor library by ensuring it is kept up to date with the latest available information.o Retains item-specific bin check information and communicates this to the catalog correction team.o Communicates customer concerns and sales opportunities to sales management.o Responsible for adding substitute items, additional item information, and AKA numbers into the AS400 database.o Responsible for completing on-line product training and attending on-site vendor training.o Assists the Cross-Reference Team and Product Team (DBIV, NII) by updating or selecting the appropriate item cross for a particular product.o Assists call center training team with product presentations when required.o Attends Team meetings in order to share technical tips and applications.o Assists with the quotation process for branches, customers, and internal associates.o Proficient in AS400 applications, PC applications, and internet search capabilities.o Assists other departments with item identification, defective inventory, and bin check issues.o Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.o Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as requiredINDICATES ESSENTIAL DUTIESTo perform this job successfully an associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:o A High School Diploma or the equivalent is required.o Minimum of three years industry experience required.o Minimum of two years inbound/ outbound telephone sales, outside sales, or customer service experience preferred.SKILLS:o Some CRT data entry experience is required.o Basic PC Knowledge is required.o Knowledge of basic arithmetic is required.o Knowledge of MSC products and the ability to provide technical assistance on various product categories is required.o Excellent customer service and sales skills are required.o Good oral and written communications skills are also required.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:o Due to federal regulations and the nature of the job all applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees, or refugees.o This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).Compensation starting at $14 – $22 / hour dependent on candidate location and experience. The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
