The Hyperscale Electrical Engineering Director is the senior electrical authority behind it. Reporting to the Head of Hyperscale Engineering, you will own electrical design intent across the full lifecycle: feasibility, design, construction, commissioning, operations and long term facilities management. It is a role for an engineer who wants genuine technical leadership on liquid to chip AI deployments, grid connections and complex mission critical systems, not a purely administrative one. Senior technical leadership and engineering assurance across a national hyperscale portfolio Electrical design intent owned end to end, from feasibility through to operations HV and LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, busduct, static and rotary UPS, and backup generation Grid connection engineering and utility engagement on major new capacity Direct influence on NEXTDC's speed, scale, sustainability and ROIC objectives Basis of Design, standards and specifications you shape rather than inherit Your responsibilities will include: Acting as the Electrical Systems Technical Representative for hyperscale engineering, providing SME expertise across design, construction, commissioning and operations Leading concept, schematic and detailed design development, independent design reviews, and review of shop drawings and vendor submissions against NEXTDC standards Overseeing electrical calculations and studies including load flow, short circuit, discrimination, earthing and failover analysis Delivering feasibility studies, due diligence reports, engineering briefs, capital cost estimates, TCO and ROI analyses Identifying and managing electrical engineering risk across grid interface, redundancy, scalability and operational resilience Providing on site support through construction and Level 1 to Level 5 commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing, then ongoing engineering advice into FM, MOPs, CABs and outage planning  This opportunity will see you working with world leaders in our space.
