Manager, Production Planning

Job Title: Manager, Production Planning Job Code: 19854 Job Location: Camden, New Jersey – (Responsibilities must be performed on-site.) Job Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule – (Every other Friday is a non-workday.) Job Description: This role will support the business with a focus on implementing, maintaining, and continually improving the production scheduling process. The production planning manager will develop and maintain complex program schedules to include resource loading and Earned Value Analysis This role will manage the team’s use of SAP to execute production planning and manage a team of production planning professionals. Additional responsibilities include frequent interactions with the demand planning team, supply chain organization and operations managers to create and support an effective Sales, Inventory and Operations Plan (SIOP). Qualified candidates will interact with all elements of the program team to develop and support regular maintenance of the production plan and be able to demonstrate agility amongst a variety of tasks. Essential Functions:

Work with Program Management Office, the Supply Chain team, and the Operations Management team to create and execute a production plan by means of material lead time analysis, inventory management, and production lead time analysis.

Daily tasks include Scheduling and execution of production plans; Leadership and management of a team of 4 people; Multiple interactions with operations leadership to implement continuous improvement activities and execute business process improvements.

Understanding and execution of all business policy and procedures for compliance to preserve industry certifications.

Plan, direct, and control all planning and scheduling operations for assigned programs

Lead weekly reviews of production plan/status including but not limited to: Production Lead Time Analysis; Backlog Reports; Planned Hour/Resource Forecasts

Work closely with the quality team to implement and maintain L3Harris production planning policies and procedures

Perform regular analysis of program schedules to evaluate program and enterprise-wide resource needs through the integration of all program schedules

Assist with monthly earned value analysis and reporting for production planning

Lead and manage a group of professionals including conducting performance analysis and reviews

Obtain and analyze data and status from affected organizations to prepare, update, and present periodic project status reports

This person will be a resource for all projects within the organization

Job Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

United States Citizenship required with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

Knowledge and familiarity with SAP/ S4Hana and demonstrated proficiency in production planning

Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of equivalent work experience in operations planning OR Program Management

Demonstrated experience on programs with responsibility for development and executions of plans

Proven leadership and management experience

Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments

Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) practices, Project Planning/Coordination and Production Scheduling

Ability to multi-task within tight deadlines

Prior Experience in engineering and manufacturing environment

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and practices to include risk management concepts and risk analysis related to master schedules

Ability to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Military Contractor, Aerospace or Defense Industry background is preferred

Objective thinker with a passion for problem solving and the ability to execute challenging tasks to completion

Active DoD SECRET security clearance

Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
