We contribute to BASF‘s success by providing best suited solutions for our service recipients, always thinking one step ahead.We are looking for the responsible lead for the US accounting & reporting activities associated with Corporate Areas. As a Financial Reporting Specialist Corporate Areas, you will ensure that there is an adequate and robust internal control environment in the US companies and coordinate and manage the local activities for select Corporate Areas, including EH&S, Legal and Insurance. This includes ensuring that accounting issues are appropriately identified, evaluated, steered, and communicated to local management (NA) and corporate center (CF).As a Financial Reporting Specialist Corporate, you create chemistry by

Frequently engaging with Hub, local management, Corporate Areas, and business units to ensure proper accounting and sharing of best practices and solutions.

Leading the Accounting & Reporting team in the area of provisions by liaising with colleagues in the EH&S, Legal, Insurance and Real Estate teams in North America (US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico), ensuring provisions and expenses are recorded accurately and timely, in accordancewith BASF Group Guidelines as well as core IFRS/GAAP principles.

Ensuring that significant accounting issues are appropriately identified, evaluated, steered and communicated to local management (NA) and the corporate center (CF). This includes contributions towards the overall Group audit as well as the statutory audits, as required.

Leveraging financial acumen, communication skills, data orientation and relationships with other units, Hub, and corporate center, to ensure topics are addressed in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Contributing to the overall quality of BASF’s financial reporting.

If you

Have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Admin. (CPA and/or MBA is highly desired.)

Possess a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in corporate financial roles and/or public accounting experience.

Possess strong project management abilities, and working experience related to audits and general finance.

Communicate with excellence both verbally and in written form, in a technical and executive way.

Are able to interpret and act on data insights.

Possess good relationship-building skills.
