Hello to all. We are a family owned landscaping and horticulture company, and we have multiple openings for a landscaper/horticulture assistant. We are small but looking to build and looking for the right individuals. We pride ourselves on meticulous plant care covering many different species. It is perfect for those interested in any horticulture careers!
The ideal individual will have the following qualities and be able to deal with the following circumstances:
-A genuine interest in landscape work but willing to learn horticulture as a necessary job skill
-Ability to work in the elements; rain, humidity, heat, etc.
-Ability to work long hours all week, including Saturdays during peak season (typically 50+, hardly ever 60)
-Keen eye for details, cleanliness, orderly work habits
-Previous relevant experience preferred and will be discussed upon consideration/interview
-This position is open to men AND women! If you are a hard worker and love working with plants, give us a shout.
-Please be age and fitness appropriate; this is not for the faint of heart and requires constant lifting, bending, up and down, hands and knees, digging, etc.
-Home base is in Allenwood, NJ 08720 on Hurley Pond Road, between routes 34 and 138.
If all of this sounds good, starting rate of pay will be $20/hr minimum, but can potentially start at, or get to, $23/hr. This will all be based on experience and also on how you work out after a probationary period. A raise from $20/hr within a few weeks is not out of the question if you are applying yourself!
A little about us: Our founder Greg has worked in fine horticulture for over 4 decades. The properties we manage cover Bay Head, Mantoloking, Sea Girt, Spring Lake, Wall, Brielle, Belmar, etc. Our focus is biodiversity in the landscape and garden, and a true culture of caring for plants throughout their natural lives, managing all aspects of plant health. Anyone can learn this if they are interested enough and it is a great place to do so! We are a fun outfit and are all very into what we do every day.
