Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Seamstress/Tailor to join our team. This position requires professional experience—candidates without prior experience will not be considered. The ideal candidate will be proficient in garment alterations, repairs, and tailoring techniques, capable of handling various fabrics and garment types with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Perform professional alterations and repairs on a variety of garments, including suits, dresses, pants, coats, and formalwear.
Conduct accurate fittings and take precise measurements to ensure proper adjustments.
Modify garment size, length, and structure according to customer requests.
Replace zippers, buttons, linings, and other garment components as needed.
Work with delicate and heavy fabrics, ensuring expert craftsmanship.
Operate sewing machines, sergers, and other tailoring tools with precision.
Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
Complete alteration projects efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Provide excellent customer service by offering professional tailoring advice.
Requirements (Must-Have Experience):
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a seamstress, tailor, or alterations specialist.
Expertise in using industrial sewing machines and hand-stitching techniques.
Strong knowledge of garment construction and different tailoring methods.
Ability to take and follow precise measurements and alteration instructions.
Exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
Previous experience in a dry cleaner or tailoring shop is a plus.
Compensation Options:
We offer flexible pay structures based on experience and preference:
Salary-Based: Fixed weekly or monthly salary based on skill level and experience.
Commission-Based: Earn a percentage of each completed alteration job, providing higher earning potential based on productivity.
