Patient Care Technician I- Per Diem / Cardiac

Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Patient Care Technician I for the Cardiac Access Unit at Morristown Medical Center to work 6am-6pm, including rotating weekends. Essential Function/Responsibilities:

Assisting patients with activities of daily living, Obtaining and recording vital signs, weights and heights, preparing patients for Cardiac Cath Lab and Cardiac OR procedures.

Assisting patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges, measuring and recording I & O; performing EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring, Observing and reporting changes in patients’ condition to the RN.

Minimum Education:

High school graduate or equivalent required

Minimum Experience:

6 months prior healthcare experience with patient care experience preferred.

Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with other members of the Care Team.

License/Certifications:

Current BLS preferred; required within 3 months of hire
