The role will support many day-to-day tactile tasks that must take place to deliver the highest quality experience to established health systems customers within a geographic territory. The learning focus will be experiential, interns will gain exposure to the business through a combination of shadowing, project participation, and a capstone project to end the summer. The program provides a realistic view into the Health Systems Account Management role and the many stakeholders and factors such as sales techniques, research strategies and behind the scenes responsibilities that contribute to success within the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare distribution and services.Summer 2024 Intern Program Details:Paid InternshipFull time / 10-12 weeksPosition will reside in DC, MD, Philadelphia, South Jersey areas (REMOTE)This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience, while applying critical skills in a dynamic and growing industry!No company-sponsored housing, relocation, student visa or Green Cardassistance availableThe internship program provides networking, access to executives, structured performance & coachingQualifications:Minimum RequirementsEnrolled as a full-time student at the time of the internship, at the UndergraduateMust have completed a minimum of 75 credit hours by the start of the internshipAt least 18 years of ageAuthorized to work in the United StatesAbility to work a minimum of 30 hours, available during core hours for critical meetings and trainingWillingness to learn, develop, and contribute in a fun, demanding, fast-paced environmentResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively with Field Sales Account Management team and other cross-functional team members to support the customer relationshipPerform sales and administrative tasks and procedures under managerial direction on small to mid-size accountsPerforms competitive analysis, tracks industry trends and market conditions, and report to key stakeholdersRide along with team members to observe, participate, and engage with customers directlyLearn key business drivers, perform analyses, and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data-driven decision-makingProactively participate in special projects/initiatives with teams like sales operations, leadership, etc.Critical SkillsSales, account management or customer service experience a plusCritical thinking, leadership, and organizational skillsAbility to multi-task and adhere to timelines and deadlines; time managementIntermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Out of the box thinkers wantedStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex problems into simpler terms,At McKesson, we care about the well-being of the patients and communities we serve, and that starts with caring for our people.
