The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining student, staff, visitor, and building safety by patrolling the building, monitoring security cameras, and building relationships with our school community to create a welcoming and safe space for students, staff, and visitors.A Bit More About You…Demonstrated ability to work with a team as a collaborative partnerAbility to troubleshoot and manage high stress situations with a calm and positive demeanorCommitment to do whatever it takes to ensure our teachers and students have what they need to be successfulAbility to proactively problem solve; anticipate challenges before they occurAbility to identify inefficiencies and generate creative solutionsHere's what you'll be doing:Build positive rapport and relationships with all community membersRepresent our school as the first person people will interact with by upholding school valuesObserve and report activities and incidentsProvide security and safety of students, staff, and propertyRespond appropriately per procedures and protocols to student infractionsRespond to, de-escalate, and intervene in student conflicts and altercationsSupport student entry and dismissal each dayMonitor security camerasEnsure order and safety, and may act to enforce rules and regulations for the school pertaining to staff, visitors, and premisesPatrol building and exterior on foot- check for security violations, hazards, unlocked doors, blocked entrances and exitsReport details of incidents in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations while keeping the scene secureMaintain logs and reports as requiredSupport infrequent weekend/evening events as neededPerform other duties as needed to support school-wide systems
