This role is responsible to ensure the proper picking of supplies and instruments and delivery/return of case carts utilized in Perioperative Services. Additionally, the Orderly ensures the proper delivery of specialized equipment utilized by Perioperative Services along with upholding policies/procedures in order to maintain a high level of service and professionalism to ensure Continuous Quality Improvement.Job Responsibilities:
Assists nursing staff in obtaining stock supplies, and equipment for each designated area/rooms.
Maintains/adjusts par levels of supplies, linen, blankets, solutions as demands increases or decreases.
Complies with Infection Control Guidelines (i.e., Hand washing, dress code)
Transports blood and blood products to and from the blood bank as necessary. Transports equipment to and from the Bio-medical engineering department.
Performs all other duties assigned.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
BLS Certification required or completion within 90 days of hire to the unit.
Certified nurse s training program.
Knowledge of inventory control.
Successful completion of all Orientation requirements of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center
