Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist I for NJMS- Emerging Pathogens. Under direction, is responsible for managing a large laboratory having research and teaching functions. Responsibilities includes budget preparation and recommendation, supervision of staff, purchasing projects proposals. Performs complex research experiments.Among the key duties of this position are the following:Meets with the chair, faculty (Principal Investigator) to participate in the establishment of goals and objectives for the laboratory consistent with the budgetary, manpower and policy framework of the department or decision.Participates in planning and expecting projects, programs using specialized knowledge of complexities, methods and probable value of results.As individual researcher, performs complex or novel assignments which often require development of new or improved techniques and procedures.Participates in the design or modification of laboratory equipment to meet the needs of the research activity.In conjunction with the Principal Investigator, designs and plans the layout of the assigned facilities.Supervises the activities of the subordinate staff (such as lower level professional staff, technicians and laboratory assistants).Trains and instructs subordinate staff.Carries out performance evaluations.Participates in the hiring process.   • Summary Serves as a Staff Support Specialist (MSS-1) at a Level 11 FAA Air Traffic Control Terminal Facility. Responsibilities Responsible for tactical, strategic, and administrative support of multiple program areas such as training, quality control, quality assurance, traffic management, airspace and procedures, plans and programs, operational automation, military operations, special and security operations, safety management system, safety reporting and other areas of specialty identified collaboratively at the local level. The work requires a comprehensive knowledge of the ATC field and familiarization with the many integral components of the industry which comprise the National Airspace System. Specialists must have the ability to apply this knowledge to the analysis, evaluation and development of new methods, studies, approaches, and procedures. The Staff Support Specialist must be knowledgeable of agency wide programs, facility goals and objectives. Must be able to communicate clearly and tailor their message to the target audience.
