Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as a Desktop Engineer in Woodbridge, New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for the management, configuration, and support of our desktop and endpoint infrastructure, utilizing your expertise in Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) and proficiency in tools such as KACE, Ivanti, LANDesk, SCCM, or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.Responsibilities: Deploy, manage, and configure desktop and endpoint systems using UEM tools like KACE, Ivanti, LANDesk, SCCM, or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager. Oversee the deployment and installation of software packages, patches, updates, and security configurations across the organization's desktop infrastructure. Create and maintain standardized desktop images and deployment methodologies for various hardware models to ensure consistent deployment across the organization. Address and resolve technical issues related to desktop systems, including hardware, software, and network connectivity problems. Implement and enforce security policies and configurations on desktop systems to ensure data protection, compliance, and vulnerability management. Coordinate and carry out patch management activities, including the testing, deployment, and monitoring of software patches and updates for system integrity and security. Keep accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Generate regular reports on system performance, compliance, and incident resolution metrics. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance desktop management processes, share knowledge, and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT operations. Provide technical support and guidance to end users regarding desktop hardware, software, and operating systems. Assist with user onboarding, training, and problem resolution as needed. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Desktop Engineer Proficient in KACE, LANDesk, and Microsoft SCCM Familiarity with Microsoft SCCM - System Cntr Config Mgr Demonstrable experience in Bash Scripting Proficient in Application Packaging Must hold a Microsoft Certified Detail Oriented (MCP) certification Possession of a Microsoft Certified System Engineer certification is a plus Must be a Microsoft MCP certified detail oriented Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Server Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
