Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Assistant for the Africana Studies department with the School of Arts and Sciences. This position is needed to conduct short-term project regarding U.S. legal landscape in relation to Gaza and Palestinian advocacy, more generally.Among the key duties of this position are the following:Identifies and compiles a list of all major politically-motivated 501(3) organizations in the United States coordinating, funding, and/or conducting offensive civil and human rights litigation.Researches novel legal theories advanced by such organizations, and their efficacy.Enumerates and maps out how oppositional organizations cause harm to activists.Assess scope of harm associated with those tactics.Assists in drafting of operational / policy documents. Position Status Part Time Hours Per Week 19.5 Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or discontinuation, and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System.
