Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Barista Manager to lead our front-of-house operations and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our café. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a love for coffee, a knack for creating memorable customer experiences, and the ability to inspire and train a team of baristas. Key Responsibilities:
Front-of-House Operations:
Oversee the setup and organization of the front-of-house area to ensure a welcoming and efficient environment for customers.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in all customer-facing areas, including the café and bathrooms.
Staff Training and Development:
Train, mentor, and supervise baristas to ensure consistent quality in drink preparation, customer service, and adherence to café standards.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
Drink Menu and Recipe Creation:
Develop and refine the café’s drink menu, including creating new recipes for seasonal and signature beverages.
Ensure all recipes are documented and that staff are trained to prepare drinks consistently.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of coffee, syrups, milk, and other supplies to ensure the café is always well-stocked.
Conduct regular inventory checks and communicate needs to the appropriate team members.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Oversee and participate in the cleaning and maintenance of all equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewing tools.
Ensure the café, kitchen, and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
Perform routine safety checks on equipment and address any maintenance issues promptly.
Customer Service:
Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service, ensuring every guest feels welcomed and valued.
Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach.
Hands-On Barista Work:
Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages during peak hours or as needed.
Assist with food preparation and presentation, if applicable.
Team Leadership:
Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during all shifts.
Organize and lead team meetings to communicate updates, goals, and feedback.
Act as the point of contact for front-of-house staff, addressing any concerns or challenges.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and implement them in the café.
Community Engagement:
Build relationships with regular customers and foster a sense of community within the café.
Collaborate with the marketing team to promote new menu items, events, or specials.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a barista, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, equipment, and drink preparation.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to train and motivate a team to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
Creativity and passion for developing new drink recipes and menu ideas.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak hours as needed.
