REQUIREMENTS:
A. Be certified or eligible for certification as an activity director certified by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals; or
B. Be certified or eligible for certification as a certified therapeutic recreation specialist (CTRS) by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation; or
C. Have a BA in recreation, creative arts therapy, music therapy, or other health and/or human services related degree such as gerontology or early education; or
D. Have a high school diploma with a minimum of 3 years of full-time experience in client activities in a licenced health care facility and have successfully completed an activities education program approved by the NJ Dept. of Health
E. Have strong interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, enthusiastic, well-organized, able to monitor several projects concurrently and develop a multi-level functioning program.
Adult medical day care located in Jersey City seeking an experienced Activities Director to coordinate the activity program. Requirements above must be met.
Candidate will prepare, implement, and evaluate client activities; assess the needs of clients; develop programs designed to enhance the clients' mental, physical, and functional abilities; complete mandated documentation.
Experience in a nursing facility or medical day care preferred.
Full time; M-F 7:00am-3:30pm (flexible)
