Job Summary:
As a Certified Medical Assistant at our dermatology practice, you will play a crucial role in supporting our dermatologists and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. You will assist with various clinical and administrative tasks to provide high-quality care to our patients. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate a passion for dermatological care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support:
o Prepare patients for examination by taking medical histories
o Assist dermatologists with clinical procedures and treatments.
o Administer medications as directed by the physician.
o Perform and document patient assessments, including skin examinations and biopsies.
Administrative Tasks:
o Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health systems.
o Process and handle patient billing and insurance claims.
o Manage and order medical supplies as needed.
Patient Interaction:
o Provide excellent patient care and answer patient inquiries.
o Educate patients on dermatological procedures, treatment plans, and skincare.
o Ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment for all patients.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or certification in Medical Assisting preferred.
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
Previous experience in a dermatology or medical office setting preferred.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
