Responsibilities:
Schedule and confirm patient appointments accurately, including date, time, location, and provider details
Answer phone calls promptly with a polite and professional demeanor
Provide helpful information and answer patient inquiries to ensure a positive experience
Direct calls to appropriate departments as needed
Use sound judgment when handling calls, especially with upset patients
Escalate calls to physicians, the practice manager, or the triage nurse when necessary
Assist with mailing and administrative projects as call volume permits
Perform other assigned duties as needed
New patient intakes and collect proper documentation
Add patients to the schedule, check-in and check-out
Assist as a Medical Assistant (MA), including checking in/out patients and scheduling future medical appointments
Verify insurance approvals, handle denials and appeals
Schedule medical appointments with both our providers and outside providers, and follow up on appointment status and reports
Requirements:
Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required)
High school diploma or GED
At least one year of customer service experience, preferably in a medical setting
Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
