We are looking for an experienced technician to join our team. The right candidate must have technical experience and possess the skills and qualifications listed below. Required Skills:
-Venipuncture
-Catheter Placement
-Anesthesia Administration and Monitoring MUST BE PROFICIENT
-Drug Calculations
-Surgical Pre and Post-op Care
-Dental Scale and Polish
-Dental Radiographs
-Proficiency in Radiographs and Positioning
-Proper Administration of Injections (IV, IM, SQ)
-Use of Laboratory Equipment (in-house lab machines, microscope, etc.)
-Preparation and Reading of Specimens (ear/skin cytology, blood samples, etc.)
-Triage Patients
-Keep Accurate Medical Records
-General Hospital Maintenance
Qualifications
-Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) desirable, but not required
-2+ years of veterinary experience
-Working knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment
-Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
-Passion for working with animals and their owners
-Excellent communication and organizational skills
-Strong work ethic and track record of being reliable
-Possess flexibility, positivity, and a “can-do” attitude in a busy environment
-Able to restrain larger pets when necessary
-Able to lift 40 pounds
-Proficient use of computers
The right candidate is a team player who is willing to teach others as well as learn new skills. Must contribute to the team’s daily function by cleaning/sanitizing, restocking supplies, answering phone calls, and other duties as assigned. This is a part-time position. Thursday evenings (we are open until 8:00pm) are a must.
