About the Role
This position is crucial to ensuring the perfect fit and finish of our designer gowns and sophisticated apparel. You will be responsible for alterations on custom and made-to-order special occasion garments.
Key Responsibilities:
Alterations and Customizations: Execute precise and detailed alterations on high-end special occasion gowns, cocktail dresses, and delicate garments.
Fine Fabric Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in working with luxury and delicate materials such as silk, chiffon, lace, organza, tulle, and various embellished fabrics.
Fittings: Conduct professional and comfortable fittings with clients, accurately assessing and pinning garments for alteration.
Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of quality and finishing on all garments, ensuring a flawless final product that reflects the Cenia New York brand.
Qualifications
Proven, extensive experience as a professional seamstress or tailor, specifically with high-end special occasion gowns (bridal, evening wear, prom, etc.).
Expert-level knowledge of garment construction and alteration techniques for complex designs.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to perfection.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients during fittings.
Schedule and Compensation
Part-Time Opening: Initially 2 to 3 days per week, with a flexible schedule that we can discuss.
Growth Opportunity: The potential to transition into a full-time position in the near future is available for the right candidate.
