What You’ll Do:
You’re the quarterback of our daily operations, making sure freight moves efficiently, safely, and profitably. Your responsibilities will include:
✅ Plan and dispatch drivers for intermodal and LTL loads using PortPro and Profit Tools.
✅ Prioritize pickups, deliveries, and empty returns to maximize driver productivity and revenue.
✅ Plan 2–3 steps ahead to stay ahead of bottlenecks.
✅ Schedule terminal appointments (APM, Global, etc.) and confirm any export loads have open vessels. If the vessel isn’t receiving, communicate and reschedule.
✅ Monitor PortPro for driver updates and status changes.
✅ Work with Customer Service to ensure all schedules are met—and if there’s room for more freight, add it.
✅ Track and report per diem and demurrage daily.
✅ Communicate delays and operational issues to customers, CS team, and management.
✅ Confirm driver-entered times for accuracy.
✅ Coordinate and control driver overtime.
✅ Work with the Safety Manager to ensure drivers follow all safety protocols daily.
✅ Check drivers in as they return, ensure all documents are turned in and scanned properly.
✅ Join daily huddles to review goals and strategy.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience dispatching intermodal and/or LTL freight (LTL preferred but not required for the right go-getter).
Understanding of import/export processes and port operations.
Experience working with company drivers and owner-operators.
Strong computer skills (PortPro, Profit Tools, Microsoft Office).
Excellent communication skills – clear, professional, proactive.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, not required.
