This Position is Contingent on Contract Award. This position is in support of a proposed repatriation initiative.  The purpose of the facilities is to provide comprehensive care for migrant individuals who are awaiting reunification or repatriation.  This care will begin as soon as each occupant arrives at the facility and will last until their arranged departure. The comprehensive care includes but is not limited to initial screening and exams, identifications of prior conditions and allergies, day to day care of routine, urgent and emergent medical conditions.     The Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) Nurse will provide screening and urgent care to immigrant patients, addressing their medical needs while being sensitive to the cultural and emotional challenges they face. This role involves triaging patients, performing assessments, administering treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes.  Additionally, the SANE RN is responsible for providing comprehensive care to victims of sexual assault and related crimes.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct forensic examinations, providing emotional support, and facilitating access to follow-up healthcare and counselling services. Collect evidence and collaborate with legal authorities. Maintain strict patient confidentiality. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and mental health status. Collect and analyze patient histories, vital signs, and diagnostic information. Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and healthcare needs. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by physicians. Provide direct patient care, including wound care, IV therapy, and monitoring of vital signs. Educate patients about health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies. Offer emotional support and counselling to patients and their families. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting care provided and patient responses. Maintain compliance with all project site procedures, standards, and continuing educational and mandatory training requirements. Document all patient care activities accurately and promptly in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Organize and participate in emergency response efforts, ensuring a safe environment. Proactively and independently administer basic and urgent/emergent care, including but not limited to inserting catheters with blood specimen collection, urine collection and EKG’s, visual acuity, basic wound care, changing bandages or administering intravenous medications.  Maintains supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies.  Restocking clinical and provider areas once supplies are received.  Is accountable for maintaining and improving own physician knowledge and skill competence.  Supports the International Health and Medical Services philosophy, objectives and goals and Organization mission and vision.  Respects and supports patient rights.  Fosters constructive relationships as a team member within assigned department and with the members of other departments.  Maintains professional conduct.  Supports and enforces infection control policies and procedures. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
